A Call to Translate for the Pages of World Can’t Wait Spanish
Mission Statement
The World Can’t Wait organizes people living in the United States to repudiate and stop the fascist direction
initiated by the Bush Regime, including: the murderous, unjust and illegitimate
occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan; the global “war of terror” of torture,
rendition and spying; and the culture of bigotry, intolerance and greed. This
direction cannot and will not be reversed by leaders who tell us to seek common
ground with fascists, religious fanatics, and empire. It can only be possible
by the people building a community of resistance - an independent mass movement
of people - acting in the interests of humanity to stop, and demand
prosecution, of these crimes.
This is a call for all bilingual English/Spanish speaking people who agreed with the above Mission Statement to
step forward and translate the various articles, statements, leaflets etc that
appear on the National English website www.worldcantwait.net
into Spanish and also help to promote the WCW’s National Spanish website http://www.worldcantwait-la.com/spanish.htm.
The U.S. already is the second largest Spanish speaking country in the world and it is expected over the next
few decades to become the largest, but at the same time a substantial
percentage of this population is being demonized, criminalized, hunted, jailed
and even killed because they did not have the right “papers”. This whole
movement of demonization and criminalization of the undocumented is part and
parcel of the whole fascist direction that was initiated by the Bush Regime and
in many ways being carried forward by the Obama government.
It is only going to be stopped by the masses of immigrants together with others building the community of resistance
that the above Mission statement speaks of. There is no other way.
